Carpet that works alongside your hard floors

Most homes we floor have a mix. We'll help you choose bedroom and stair carpet that looks right next to the laminate or LVT downstairs.

Carpets for upstairs rooms

Soft twists

Comfortable and practical for bedrooms and landings.

Hard-wearing loops

Dense and textured, a sensible choice for the stairs.

Wool blends

Warm, resilient and naturally flame-resistant.

Where floors meet

Clean transitions from hard floor to carpet

The spot where a laminate hallway meets the bottom stair, or an LVT landing meets a bedroom carpet, is where a job looks either tidy or rushed. We plan those joins on the visit and finish them with the right door plate or trim.

Choosing the carpet and the hard floor at the same time also makes it easy to pick tones that complement each other — something that's hard to do from memory.

Carpet questions

Can I have laminate downstairs and carpet upstairs in one deal?

You can combine a half house laminate deal downstairs with a carpet package for the bedrooms and stairs. We'll measure both and quote them together.

What carpet suits stairs best?

A dense loop or tight twist over a firm underlay, ideally in a mid or darker tone that disguises wear on the tread edges.

Does better underlay make a difference?

Yes — good underlay adds comfort, insulation and quiet, and can extend a carpet's life by up to 50%.
